The Old Drawing

Thinking in my youthful years, man where did the time go. All the fun things I loved to do along with the childlike curiosity that took me on amazingly crazy waves of exploration. I can remember a time where I drew this unforgettable black and white landscape painting with a pencil. I didn't recall putting much thought into it, I just pulled out my pencil, took a piece of paper and kept drawing until the new landscape came to life.

Just recently pulling it out of my parents home again, wow I almost forgot about this picture. One of the best ones I completed in my youth that actually made it to the frame lol! And I believe it was entered into a national fair contest back in the day. This picture brought back so many memories of my youth; how I was so unafraid in my creativity, drawing until the last thought was created from pen to paper.

Being unafraid to make mistakes in your creativity and in life is so freeing and refreshing.

It's amazing how old things in life can bring so many fond memories. In this case, bringing back the point in my life where I was unafraid to make a mistake and fully express my creativity. I'm always so amazed when I look at my niece and how open and adventurous she is in trying new things. What amazement it would be if we all had this same childlike-faith. Where all cultural limitations and barriers are removed from our ways of thinking. A landmark along life's journey where we believe that anything in life is truly attainable.

I sincerely believe there is something new we can take away from old crafted things. What old drawing and memories will you pick up again that will activate something fresh and excitingly new in your heart? In it all, we'll leave the bad ones right where they came from.

Cheers to good old drawings that will lead you into brand new fabulous memories again.
